A NEW LIFE, A NEW WALK: GET ANGRY LIKE A CHRISTIAN (EPH. 4:26-27)

Paul tells us that as Christians, the reason we get angry and the way that we express our anger, must be different than the way the world does. It must be different than the way we used to get angry before we were saved.

A NEW LIFE, A NEW WALK: NO MORE LIES (EPH. 4:25)

UNA NUEVA VIDA, UN NUEVO CAMINAR: NO MÁS MENTIRAS
Paul tells us that as the Holy Spirit is at work in our lives transforming and making us new, we have a responsibility to cooperate with Him. We must put of our old sinful self or lifestyle, and put on the new life we have received in Christ. He then proceeds to give several specific examples of what that will look like in practical everyday terms. At the top of the list, he says that we must put away lying and speak the truth. This message explores how that applies to our daily life.

The Christian life is all about change. The problem is that this change is not instantaneous or automatic. God is at work in us by the power of His Spirit to make us more like Christ (2 Cor. 3:18), but we must cooperate with the work of the Spirit. In this passage, Paul describes this cooperation in terms of putting off our old self, and putting on the new.

This chapter tells a story of rebellion in Israel, that illustrates the seriousness of rebellion in the sight of God, and the grave consequences it carries in the lives of those who rebel. It is written that we might learn from Israel's mistake and avoid a similar fate in our own lives.

WILDERNESS ATTITUDES: A GRASSHOPPER MINDSET (NUM. 13:26-33)

ACTITUDES DESÉRTICAS: UNA MENTALIDAD DE SALTAMONTES
At the border of the Promised Land, where Israel was on the brink of possessing God's promise, they doubted. Rather than believe God, they developed a grasshopper mindset. As a result, they ended up wandering in the wilderness for forty years.

This message examines this attitude of doubt, a grasshopper mindset, so that we can recognize it in ourselves and overcome it.

According to Deut. 1:2, it was only 11 days journey from Mt. Sinai to the Promise Land, but it took Israel 40 years to get there. As we study Israel's experience, we see that they had several Wilderness Atttitudes that displeased God, and resulted in their wandering in the wildernes, and the entire generation that came out of Egypt died in the wilderness, with the exception of Joshua and Caleb. One of those attitudes was coveteosness. God recorded their story for us that we might learn from their mistakes.

WILDERNESS ATTITUDES: COSTLY COMPLAINING (1 COR. 10:5-6, 11; NUM. 13:38, 30-33)

The entire generation that God delivered from slavery in Egypt, ended up wandering and eventually dying in the wilderness because of their complaining attitude. Complaining cost them the Promised Land. God recorded their story for us, that we might learn from their mistakes.
