Joseph’s story is a story of promotion, but it is a story of the downward ascent that God used to get him there. In the kingdom of God the path to promotion takes you down in order to take you up. This is truth that in his youthful immaturity Joseph did not understand, and many believers today do not understand. In the kingdom of God the path to promotion is a path of downward ascent – the path of humility, brokenness, submission, and maturity.
The story of Joseph teaches us several import lessons about the downward ascent to promotion.
