EXCEL: EL SIERVO MÁS GRANDE
Pastor Maria Khaleel
In this story, Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem, and he had just been preparing his disciples for his impending betrayal and death. Meanwhile, the disciples seemed to be on a completely different page than Jesus. They were thinking about their own personal ambition. They wanted Jesus to serve them, by appointing them to top positions in His kingdom. They were measuring success by the world’s standard of greatness, by titles, power and position. Jesus shockingly responds that in His kingdom, greatness means being a servant. He calls us to excel in serving.

SOBRESALIR: EXCELENCIA EN DAR
Pastor Maria Khaleel
Grace is not merely an attribute or attitude of God, it is what God does – He acts in extravagant generosity towards us.
Grace also speaks of Christians giving themselves and their finances for the benefit of others, as the result of having experienced God’s generosity to us. When we have experienced God’s grace, we will excel in giving ourselves and our resources (v 7) for the sake of God’s purpose and to reach and help others.
Today, we will look at three things that excellence in giving says about us.

SOBRESALIR: UN ESPÍRITU DE EXCELENCIA
Pastor Maria Khaleel
Daniel is a man who understood the spiritual importance of excellence.
Have you ever noticed how many times the word excellent is used to describe God. Excellence is important to God because it reflects his character to the world. Excellence is the state or quality of being exceptional, superior, outstanding or better. Scripture encourages excellence as honoring to God.
For our lives to bear a testimony that truly honor’s Christ, and to have God’s blessing and favor on our lives, we must have a spirit of excellence. Whatever we do, we need to do it with all of our might. We need to operate in excellence to bring glory to God. Daniel’s life reveals to us several characteristics of a spirit of excellence.

SOBRESALIR: SOLO LO MEJOR PARA DIOS
Pastor Maria Khaleel
God accused His people of dishonoring His name. They were shocked by such an accusation. So God spells it out: they were giving Him their leftovers: moldy bread, and sick and crippled animals. Instead of offering to God their best, they offered Him that which was not good or useful for anything else. It had no value, it cost them nothing.
The quality of what we offer to God matters greatly to Him (our lives, our service, our devotion to God), because it is an expression of our attitude towards Him. God is not pleased with the left overs of our time, energy, efforts or giving. God will not accept anything that is lest than the best. This passage reveals to us several important lessons about offering our best to the Lord.
