Hunger, thirst and pain are warning signs, indicators, signals of the basic human need to eat or drink. Pain indicates injury, a sickness, a disease, or a problem that needs to be addressed for us to be healthy, and to live and enjoy life as intended. Loneliness is not just a feeling, it as an indicator of a universal basic human need for relationship, for connection, that is essential to our life and well being. Loneliness has nothing to do with a person’s being in a romantic relationship or their marital status, because some of the loneliness people I have talked with are married.

God’s Word offers hope for the lonely, addressing the cause and revealing the cure for loneliness.
